PCL is a large, nonprofit organization devoted to building partnerships with people with developmental disabilities, their families, our communities, and our employees.  Prospective candidates will show an understanding of the basic principles of dignity and respect for all people, while promoting the work of PCL concerning social justice for people with developmental disabilities. 

The Residential Services Team is looking for
Ethical - Dependable - Flexible -Compassionate People to join our team!

As a Personal Support Professional you will assist individuals with every day life responsibilities.  You may be assisting with food preparation, personal health and hygiene needs, personal or house shopping, home and community-based outings and trainings, personal fund accounts, banking, and all required documentation. There are full time and part time positions available with wages starting at $9.25 - $11.00 per hour DOE (after successful completion of new hire training).

  • Good oral & written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • A dedication to learn and improve skills related to the position
  • A dedication to the use of positive behavior support strategies and Person Centered Planning
  • Basic computer skills

Additional factors to be considered

  • Previous experience in the field of developmental disabilities
  • Education related to the field of developmental disabilities

Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old with High School Diploma or GED
Posses a valid ODL with acceptable driving record
Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 25lbs.
Pass a State/Federal criminal history check, fingerprints
Pass pre-employment drug screening

Training

  • We provide initial paid training of 30 to 40 hours a week, for a minimum of two weeks, classroom and on the job training.  We can work around school and other schedules, as needed, with advanced notice.
  • Included in our training is First Aid/CPR and the Oregon Intervention System (OIS) is a program that teaches concepts that enhance personal relationships, and how to deal with a person in crisis.
