Counseling and Behavior Supports
The Cognitive and Behavioral Resource Services Department is a subsidiary group of the non-profit organization Partnerships in
Community Living, Inc. (PCL).
Our consultants believe that all people, regardless of race, religion, culture, disability, sexuality, and social or economic
circumstances, have the right to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
We offer a person-centered approach to
positive-based behavior support
The Cognitive and Behavioral Services Team provides an in-depth assessment of a person's environment, including
(but not limited to) where they live, who they live with, any prevailing medical conditions, and how this environment
meets the individual's needs.
By figuring out how we can help an individual get what they need out of life and have
their needs met, problem behaviors are often no longer needed and often decrease or disappear.
This assessment is
used to create an individualized support plan that is designed to promote consistent, respectful treatment of a person
while helping them achieve appropriate ways to get what they want or need out of life - without having to rely upon
problem behaviors.
